Sand and Cement Render Internal Walls
Sand and cement rendering internal walls can improve the aesthetics of your home. If you have a home with some exposed brick work inside, you may consider rendering it. Rendering in comparison to gyprock does not make the room smaller, as it is applied at a maximum 8mm thick. Where as gyprock can make your small space even smaller.
Rendering internal walls is a delicate task as it requires special preparation to protect both ground surfaces and windows. Great thing about rendering is the different options and finishes you can get on your internal walls.
Step by Step Guide to Rendering Internal Walls
Step 1 : Install corner beads
Corner beads are allow for straight sharp finishes, there may be instances where corner beads can be omitted. Some reasons include the if there is existing render around or the finish we are looking to get.
Step 2 : Plastic and tape all windows and floors
Plastic and tape will mean your floors and windows are protected. Easy clean up once we are done with the rendering works. See below for steps 1 and 2.
Step 3 : Apply Sand and Cement Render to Internal Walls
Dependant on the bricks, but generally a one coat sand and cement render finish with your desired finish. Most popular finish is the traditional render finish ready for paint.
Step 4 : Clean Up

What is acrylic render?
Acrylic render comes in two forms them being one that requires painting (acrylic render) and one does not (coloured acrylic render). Acrylic render requires painting OR it can be used as a base coat BEFORE a coloured acrylic render. The reasons for using acrylic render over a cement render includes substrates and/or finishes. Not all substrates are suitable for cement render.
